The Tone:
This is a full-time role for PANGEATWO’s client, located in Birmingham, Alabama, requiring in-office presence. The client manages a portfolio of multifamily communities. This Property Accountant role is essential for supporting full-cycle accounting activities and ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial records for assigned properties. The individual will manage the entire accounting cycle for a group of properties, coordinate closely with operations and leadership, and contribute to achieving greater consistency and efficiency across the accounting function.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Oversight: Oversee full-cycle accounting for an assigned group of properties, from transaction entry through completed financial statements.
• Reporting & Analysis: Analyze monthly financial results and deliver clear, actionable insights to property operations and ownership.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain audit-ready balance sheet reconciliations with thorough supporting documentation and compile accruals within close deadlines.
• Compliance & Controls: Support internal control standards, company policy adherence, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration: Partner with property management to troubleshoot financial questions and guide issues to resolution, communicating clearly with all stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant accounting experience.
• Skills: Solid understanding of financial statements and core accounting principles, advanced Excel proficiency, strong written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Bonus: Public accounting or real estate exposure.
