Job Description

The job is for a Project Manager Intern to join ARCO’s team of experts in Cincinnati, OH. The role aims to provide a better way to build a career, offering tools to excel, meaningful responsibilities, and a positive work experience from day one.

A Day in the Life (Intern Responsibilities):

As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to assist Project Managers with various tasks, including:

Estimating: Describing project proposals and assigning dollar values to the projects.
Scheduling: Creating a working timeline for subcontractors/trades to ensure timely project completion.
Design Meetings: Attending design meetings with the owner and team to understand design, structural engineers’ roles, and architectural aspects.
Buyout: Sending bid instructions, schedules, and drawings to subcontractors; receiving and evaluating proposals; and awarding subcontracts.
Permitting: Filling out permit forms, submitting forms with drawings and fees, and coordinating with city/county/fire departments for approval.
Shop Drawing and Submittal Review: Receiving shop drawings or submittals from subcontractors, providing them to the Project Manager, and communicating approval to subcontractors for material ordering and commencement of work.
Billing: Managing subcontracts, change orders, pay requests, and pay applications.
Job Site Visits: Visiting job sites with the Project Manager to ensure the project is running smoothly.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program.
• A Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0.
Previous Internship or Co-op construction experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A strong work ethic.
