Project Manager, Intern | Rodney Hunt

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Rodney Hunt, focusing on supporting critical project management functions. Rodney Hunt is a global technology and engineering leader that solves flow control challenges within the water and wastewater industry, providing solutions for industrial and municipal customers. This role is essential for assisting in the successful execution of multiple projects, offering students or recent graduates valuable hands-on experience to build foundational skills in project engineering and coordination.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)

• Mission: Assist in the successful execution of multiple projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Coordination & Planning: Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing project activities from inception to completion, ensuring collaboration with cross-functional teams like design, procurement, and construction to meet project goals.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare, update, and maintain essential project schedules, budgets, technical reports, and proposals, while also documenting project information in MS Excel, preparing O&M manuals, and organizing closeout documentation.
• Issue Resolution & Compliance: Support the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues that arise during project execution, help ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and participate in site visits to monitor progress and verify quality.
• Delivery & Improvement: Monitor and track project progress to ensure all deliverables meet scope, quality, and timeline requirements, participate in post-project evaluations to identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of project management processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiarity with Word and PowerPoint, the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, and the capacity to understand basic calculations such as price schedule breakdowns.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to multitask and manage time effectively.
