The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles County. TikTok is a company building the leading destination for short-form mobile video, aiming to inspire creativity and bring joy. This role is crucial for scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon, pioneering Content & Creator commerce in the US, and shaping the future of shopping on the platform. This intern will help deliver high-quality products and a unique customer experience by contributing to an innovative, secure, and intuitive e-commerce ecosystem.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Merchant Recruitment: Identify and recruit high-potential fashion sellers and brands through industry research, outreach, events, referrals, and networking.
• Seller Support: Support newly onboarded sellers in launching live commerce programs and identifying growth opportunities.
• Performance Analysis: Analyze seller performance to recommend actions that improve live Gross Merchandise Value (GMV).
• Market Research: Track emerging fashion trends, products, brands, and consumer behavior to identify high-potential categories and merchants for TikTok Shop.
• Reporting & Tools: Build merchant performance dashboards and trackers to monitor progress and support growth programs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong interest in Fashion, E-commerce, Social Commerce, Live Commerce, or the Creator Economy.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, partnerships, merchant operations, retail, influencer marketing, entrepreneurship, or community leadership.
• Skills: Comfortable with outbound outreach and relationship building, capable of working directly with merchants/business owners, possesses a strong ownership mindset, and is results-oriented while taking initiative.
• Bonus: Preferred majors include Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Business Management, Retail Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Communications, or Supply Chain / Merchandising; other majors are considered if candidates demonstrate strong business development, sales, or entrepreneurial experience.
