Firm Account and Engagement Finance Services Specialist | Deloitte

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Deloitte, located within commutable distance to one of its select offices, requiring a minimum of one day per week in-office. Deloitte is a global professional services firm that helps clients solve complex challenges. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of large client engagements, directly supporting consulting teams in managing their projects effectively.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Budget Management: Partner with project teams to manage budgets, track project financials, and forecast revenue and expenses, ensuring projects stay financially on track.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide engagement leadership with data for informed decision-making.
• Billing and Collections: Monitor project spending and support activities related to billing clients and collecting payments.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate financial updates, insights, and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders, including non-financial team members.
• Risk and Process Improvement: Help identify financial risks, pinpoint process issues, and propose opportunities for operational improvement within engagements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline, demonstrating a solid understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or 2 years of relevant experience if holding a business degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Minimum 2 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly, intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, comfort working with large datasets, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Experience working with various contracting types (e.g., time and materials, fixed price) and billing scenarios, along with experience gained in a professional services firm.
