Project Engineering Intern | GenPark

This is an internship at GenPark, located in San Diego, CA (Hybrid Work Model). This role is an exciting internship designed to provide robust hands-on experience in engineering principles and practical project management, contributing to critical projects and gaining valuable exposure to product development and deployment.

• Mission: This intern will contribute to critical projects by applying engineering principles and practical project management, gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Planning: Assist actively in project planning activities, contributing to the development of project timelines, resource allocation, and strategy.
• Engineering Support: Provide comprehensive support for various engineering initiatives, working closely with senior engineers and technical teams.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Coordinate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams, including product, design, and development, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Progress Tracking: Contribute to tracking project progress, identifying potential roadblocks, and proposing solutions to ensure project objectives are met on schedule and within scope.
• Documentation: Participate in the documentation of project specifications, progress reports, and engineering insights.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related degree program, with a demonstrated understanding of Project Planning processes and methodologies, and basic knowledge or foundational experience in Electrical Engineering concepts and their practical applications.
• Experience: Strong Project Management Skills, including excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
• Skills: Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and clear articulation of ideas; A proactive attitude with a strong ability to work collaboratively, contribute positively to a team environment, and take initiative.
• Bonus: Availability for flexible work in a hybrid setting, with the ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA, as required.
