General Summary
This assignment involves assisting a project team with the comprehensive management, field construction activities, and documentation processes for a heavy civil construction project.

Essential Job Accountabilities (Responsibilities)

• Communicate with jobsite Foremen and Superintendents to understand field construction operations and provide necessary support.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, and the local community.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with project environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Support the Project Engineer in approving timecards within HeavyJob, ensuring all equipment and employees are accurately accounted for.
• Aid in verifying quantities in FIS (Field Information Systems) and logging them for cost and revenue tracking purposes.
• Assist the Project Engineer in generating and distributing daily cost reports (covering trucking, labor, and equipment) to the Project Manager, Foreman, and Superintendent.
• Contribute to the completion of daily reports, documenting activities undertaken by both Granite and Subcontractors.
• Handle the placement of necessary material orders, survey requests, locates, and other essential requisitions.
• Maintain an organized to-do list and daily diary.
• Assist with the calculations of material yields, such as aggregate and asphalt.
• Conduct daily jobsite tours with the Project Manager and/or Engineer to verify claimed quantities and stay updated on overall job progress.

Education

• A High School diploma is required.
• A minimum of two years of education from an accredited institution of higher learning is also necessary, with the discipline focused on Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Work Experience

• Previous construction experience is considered a plus.

Physical Demands
The role requires the employee to regularly talk and hear. Frequently, the employee will stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. Occasionally, the employee must reach with hands and arms and lift and/or move items weighing between 26 to 50 pounds.
