The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Gartner Refrigeration, a Waldinger Company, located in Plymouth, MN. The Waldinger Corporation is an organization that operates within the construction business line, specializing in refrigeration solutions. This Project Accountant role is critical for ensuring the accurate and efficient completion of accounting and administrative support duties for assigned construction projects. The individual in this position plays a key part in the financial health and operational smoothness of the company’s projects.

• Mission: Ensures the accurate and efficient completion of accounting and administrative support duties relative to assigned projects within the construction business line.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Operations: Manages project accounting for assigned projects, including new job and work order setup, job and work order billings, and overall job management, entering change orders into the system.
• Receivables Collection: Performs frequent review of past due accounts and maintains timely collection efforts for all construction receivables, coordinating mailing of monthly statements and identifying receivables for external collection or lien efforts, while maintaining notes on retention status.
• Cash Oversight: Manages daily cash operations, including forecasting and reconciliation.
• Contract Administration: Maintains the database of Contracts and Change Orders for Construction Jobs.
• Financial Close & Support: Completes month-end reconciliations and handles additional administrative and accounting duties as needed, such as contractor license applications/renewals and requesting insurance certificates.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree, providing foundational domain knowledge in accounting or a related field.
• Experience: 1-2 years of accounting experience.
• Skills: Capability in financial record keeping, accounts receivable management, cash management, contract administration, and financial reconciliation.
• Bonus: Public accounting experience is preferred.
