Project Accountant 1 | HDR

• Mission: This role supports project managers and staff by ensuring accurate financial administration, invoicing, and collections for projects within an employee-owned culture.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Invoicing and Collections: Take responsibility for client invoicing and collections management.
• Financial Documentation: Conduct accurate contract documentation, administration, and maintenance, including fee and budget entry.
• Performance Data and Resolution: Work with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues.
• System Coordination: Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and work with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Daily Support: Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis, and provide backup assistance on coding and processing accounts payable, time sheets, and expense reports.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: Associate degree in a closely related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience: Familiarity with Earned Value Management and proficiency with MS Office, including Word and Outlook, are required.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling, and telephone etiquette. Must be flexible and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, collaborate with various managers, be self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented, and handle confidential information.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
