Production Support Team – Kilns | Amrize
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Amrize, located in Alpena, MI. Amrize operates the Alpena Cement Plant, utilizing kilns in the production process. This position is vital for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the plant grounds, assisting in essential maintenance tasks, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials. The role directly contributes to the overall safety and efficiency of the plant’s daily operations.

• Mission: Ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained plant environment by providing essential operational support and material handling
• Tech Stack: Skid loaders, forklifts, fast-vac truck, teleforker, sweeper
What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety Adherence: Promote and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and practices within the work environment.
• Grounds Maintenance: Maintain plant grounds by operating sweepers and fast-vacs, and perform snow removal and salting of roads and sidewalks.
• Material Handling: Operate various mobile equipment, including skid loaders and forklifts, to pick up and deliver oil drums throughout the plant.
• Fluid Management: Manage the emptying of oil drums and operate the oil-water separator efficiently.
• Infrastructure Upkeep: Perform repairs, replacements, and cleaning of rail tracks and tie switches.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High School diploma/GED, with a foundational understanding of plant layouts and equipment use.
• Experience: Valid Driver’s License and demonstrated experience with small mobile equipment.
• Skills: Safe operation of mobile equipment, adherence to all plant safety rules, and effective collaboration as a team member.
• Bonus: Willingness to participate in a training program to become proficient in plant equipment, and the ability to wear an approved respirator when required.
