Job Description: Production Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)
Millennium Space Systems is seeking highly motivated interns to support their Manufacturing Engineers. The internship focuses on contributing to the build, test, and launch of satellites and related components. Successful candidates will possess practical problem-solving skills demonstrated through hobbies, academic projects, or previous internships.
Responsibilities:
• Aid in the development of manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment; collaborating with vendors.
• Review designs for manufacturability and production scalability.
• Propose improvements for manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout using data-driven approaches.
• Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods and confirming manufacturing processes.
• Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating costs, reviewing schedules, and estimating future requirements.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Execute tasks and identify opportunities to improve hardware build processes, transitioning from low-rate to higher-rate production.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Junior or Senior in an ABET-accredited Engineering program.
• Active enrollment in an accredited post-secondary program with at least one semester/quarter remaining after the internship.
• GPA > 3.0
• Desire or passion for Manufacturing and Production.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and policies; recommend procedural changes.
• Familiarity with manufacturing engineering principles and concepts.
• Technical problem-solving skills; hands-on experience is a plus.
Compensation:
$20.67/hr – $48.08/hr

• Millennium is a DDTC-registered, ITAR-compliant company. The position requires special access; applicants must be U.S. citizens eligible for a security clearance and willing to maintain one.
