The Tone:
This is a summer internship at TikTok, likely based in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is a global leader in short-form mobile video, dedicated to inspiring creativity and bringing joy to its users worldwide. This role is crucial to a product team focused on enhancing merchant growth and certainty on Shop Ads, directly contributing to the platform’s long-term revenue growth and improving the overall merchant experience.

• Mission: To build scalable products that help merchants identify issues, discover growth opportunities, and improve GMV performance and long-term revenue growth on TikTok Shop Ads.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Shop Ads products: Work with the lead Product Manager to design and build critical TikTok Shop Ads products, specifically focusing on diagnostic tools, benefit realization features, intelligent recommendations, and actionable insights.
• Improve advertiser performance: Create and refine products that guide advertisers to adopt best practices, helping them address key issues, discover new growth opportunities, and ultimately expand their business on TikTok Shop.
• Drive product lifecycle: Collaborate extensively with diverse cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, data science, and platform teams, to meticulously define product goals, oversee development, conduct rigorous testing, and successfully launch new features.
• Define product success: Establish and rigorously analyze key metrics that are essential for informing strategic product decisions and guiding prioritization efforts effectively.
• Lead project execution: Independently manage and drive projects from initiation to completion, demonstrating strong organizational skills, careful planning, and reliable execution while maintaining simplicity in approach.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field. This internship requires a commitment of at least 3 months, with a preference for candidates available 5 days a week, for a full 12-week period during Summer 2026.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively within cross-functional teams, contributing to a highly interactive environment.
• Skills:
• Possess strong logical thinking capabilities and robust data analysis skills, enabling the breakdown, analysis, and resolution of complex problems.
• Exhibit excellent organizational, planning, communication, and execution skills, coupled with a self-motivated and responsible approach to tasks.
• Capable of driving projects independently, ensuring reliability and simplicity in all deliverables.
• Bonus: A major in statistics, computer science, or an equivalent science/technical field is preferred, along with prior technical experience or project work in these areas.
