Procurement Supervisor | Corning Incorporated

What You’ll Actually Do
• Team Leadership: Supervise and prioritize tasks for the purchasing team to ensure efficient and effective procurement operations.
• Procurement Management: Oversee the full procurement process for materials, equipment, supplies, and services, including coordinating commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers to achieve service, quality, and cost objectives, and support Global Supply Management initiatives.
• Cost & Performance Optimization: Lead cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects, while preparing and analyzing procurement KPIs such as cost savings and lead times.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal departments including Production, Warehouse, Finance, and Quality to ensure uninterrupted material availability and resolve supplier-related issues.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Specialization in Purchasing, Procurement, or Sourcing.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Sourcing, including previous experience supervising personnel or coordinating teams. Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, supplier evaluation, and performance management. Practical knowledge of inventory control and demand planning, alongside proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities. Comprehensive understanding of procurement and sourcing processes. Ability to prepare and analyze procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics.
• Bonus: Experience in manufacturing environments; Knowledge of import/export processes; Experience leading cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives; Exposure to strategic sourcing methodologies; Advanced English communication skills.
