Procurement Specialist | 3M

• Mission: Create, support and implement category strategies to ensure the Procurement organization and 3M meet its cost savings, growth and working capital goals.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Development: Develop and implement AMERICAS Pack Out Services category strategies to support Procurement cost, cash, and growth objectives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations.
• Process Improvement: Drive cost reduction and process improvement initiatives by applying innovative Procurement best practices and leveraging data, metrics, and analysis.
• Supplier Management: Lead supplier selection, manage supplier relationships, and serve as the primary point of contact for 3M, including negotiations and support for effective NPI launches.
• Solution Implementation: Identify and implement solutions for complex sourcing and supply challenges, including dual-sourcing, category strategy, supplier management, and negotiation of agreements such as VMI, consigned materials, and formula-based pricing.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher completed and verified prior to start, with core domain knowledge in Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.
• Experience: Overall 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of relevant experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing, specifically within third-party manufacturing or similar environments.
• Skills: Strong negotiation and contracting skills, ability to build strong partnerships, experience applying data, metrics, and analysis to drive initiatives, and capability to identify and implement solutions for complex sourcing and supply challenges.
• Bonus: Initiative-driven self-starter with a positive and proactive approach, project management experience with a proven ability to collaborate successfully on complex projects, strong stakeholder engagement skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, financial acumen, and comfort with business analytics.
