Procurement Internship Description
CSX’s Procurement Internship Program offers a 10-week immersive experience within the Procurement Department, providing interns with a comprehensive understanding of CSX’s methods and culture. The program is designed to expose candidates to real-world challenges and empower them to contribute to the company’s financial performance.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
• Strategic Analysis: Interns will work alongside experienced professionals to analyze marketing, operating, and capital projects, evaluating economic tradeoffs and informing real-time business decisions.
• Data-Driven Insights: Provide analytical support for operational reviews, resource allocation, and financial valuations.
• Supply Chain Strategy: Contribute to the development of short- and long-term strategies for supply chain and procurement of resources.
• Benefit Quantification: Help develop and utilize procurement strategies to quantify benefits and drive sound, fact-based economic decisions.
• Effective Communication: Consult and communicate analyses through presentations to senior management within the Procurement Department and business partners from other departments.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution.
• GPA: Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale).
Knowledge and Skills:
• Academic Excellence: Demonstrated academic achievement with a strong interest in procurement and supply chain management.
• Leadership: Proven leadership ability and initiative.
• Communication: Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior level audience.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
