The Tone:
This is an early career fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, located in Lebanon, NH. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is a quaternary care facility, Level I trauma center, and academic medical center committed to delivering world-class care and advancing healthcare delivery through research and community partnerships. This intensive postgraduate training program prepares Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for successful and fulfilling careers in primary care, fostering confidence and clinical excellence in independent practice. The program focuses on developing acute and long-range medical and critical-thinking skills essential for comprehensive patient care.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Train alongside experienced clinicians at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, a quaternary care facility and Level I trauma center.
• Learning: Engage in a structured, competency-based curriculum that integrates direct patient care, didactic learning, and mentorship.
• Delivering Care: Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care to diverse patient populations of all ages upon program completion.
• Managing Needs: Manage acute, chronic, and preventive health needs in both outpatient and community settings upon program completion.
• Developing Skills: Demonstrate clinical reasoning, care coordination, and effective patient communication skills essential for independent practice.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of an accredited Master’s degree Physician Assistant program or Advanced Practice Nursing program. This is an early career role focused on postgraduate training.
• Experience: Active national certification as a PA-C or NP. Eligibility for New Hampshire PA or APRN licensure and Federal DEA registration prior to program start date. Completion of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s standard pre-employment background check, health screening, and credentialing process before matriculation.
• Skills: Clinical reasoning, care coordination, effective patient communication, and the ability to deliver evidence-based care across diverse patient populations.
• Bonus: FNP certification preferred for Nurse Practitioners.
