2027 Summer Corporate Intern – Pricing | Caterpillar Inc.

The Tone:
This is a 40-hour-per-week onsite internship at Caterpillar Inc., located in Peoria, IL, Mossville, IL, or Cary, NC. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: 40-hour-per-week onsite work assignment, Monday through Friday, lasting 12 weeks in the summer.
• Location: In-person, Peoria, IL, Mossville, IL, Cary, NC
• Pay: $22.50 – $40.25 hourly
• Team: Critical team member in organizations handling all aspects of pricing for Caterpillar Machines, Energy & Transportation, and Parts & Services.
• Mission: Establish and execute optimal price levels for products and services by providing pricing recommendations and thorough analysis of various business indicators.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
Strategic Pricing: Serve as a critical team member contributing to all aspects of pricing for Caterpillar Machines, Energy & Transportation (Engines), and Parts & Services.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, sales, marketing, accounting, and supply chain teams to drive value-based pricing strategies across the organization.
Digital Innovation: Work with cross-functional teams to advance Caterpillar’s digital pricing capabilities and enhance pricing tools.
Pricing Execution: Provide guidance for the execution of differentiated pricing strategies and execute strategic and tactical price actions within a robust pricing governance framework.
Data Insights: Analyze, interpret, and communicate a wide variety of business data, including sales, competitive environment, and product value characteristics, to inform pricing recommendations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Marketing, or another business-related field at a 4-year accredited university/college.
• Experience: Must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours prior to the start of the internship. If a transfer student, 12 semester hours must be completed at a 4-year university. A minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA is required for both Major GPA and Cumulative GPA.
• Skills: Demonstrated customer focus, strong data gathering and analysis capabilities, accuracy and attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills.
• Bonus: Previous internship and/or relevant work experience, leadership involvement in student associations, and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
