Customer Development Officer Suzhou SUS Sub-branch | HSBC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HSBC, located in Suzhou, China. HSBC’s International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) division serves a vast global customer base, from retail clients to ultra-high net worth individuals, helping them manage, protect, and grow their wealth. This role is crucial in implementing Premier Acquisition strategies and acquiring new-to-bank customers, directly contributing to the company’s purpose of providing borderless banking and world-class wealth management. The Customer Development Officer is instrumental in delivering high-quality service to HSBC’s highest value personal clients, fostering customer satisfaction through excellent service delivery.

• Mission: To acquire new Premier Banking customers, develop client relationships, and deliver superior wealth management services to high-value personal clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Implementation: Successfully implement Premier Acquisition strategies to grow the client base.
• Client Acquisition: Acquire new-to-bank customers through central leads provided by the bank or via self-generated prospecting efforts.
• Service Delivery & Sales: Provide high-quality service to the highest value personal clients while also completing simple retail sales to meet defined targets.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with relevant internal business areas, including Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) and Marketing, to support client development.
• Customer Satisfaction: Deliver high-standard customer service consistently to ensure and enhance customer satisfaction levels.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of proven and progressive experience within financial services and/or retail sales is required. Candidates should have a sound understanding of various financial products including different forms of deposits, Wealth and Estate Management (WEM) products, and mortgage offerings. Additionally, knowledge of the evolving laws and regulations governing the banking and finance industry, consumer trends, competitor offerings, and economic and foreign currency markets is essential.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong presentation and sales skills, coupled with effective objection handling techniques and the ability to perform under pressure. Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, alongside a customer service-oriented approach.
