Intern – Estimating | Sundt Construction

The TL;DR

• Team: Works closely with Preconstruction and Operations teams, operational leads, estimators, and other team members.
• Mission: To provide hands-on experience in the preconstruction phase and support the successful planning and execution of construction projects.
• Tech Stack: Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite programs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Proposal Preparation: Aid in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients.
• Bid Analysis: Assist in analyzing subcontractor bids and vendor proposals to ensure they meet project requirements.
• Estimating Support: Support the estimating team in preparing quantity take-offs, developing cost estimates, and creating bid packages.
• Software Utilization: Utilize modeling software such as Revit or Navisworks to develop accurate quantities and support the estimating process.
• Document Management: Help organize and maintain project documents, including plans, specifications, and addendums.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program; Entry-Level.
• Experience: Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Skills: Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, a team-oriented approach, eagerness to learn, and curiosity.
• Bonus: Interest in a construction career for a builder.
