About Deloitte LLP’s Policy & Government Relations (PGR) Team:

Deloitte LLP’s PGR team is a group of professionals dedicated to advocating for and influencing policymaking at the federal, state, and local levels. They engage with policymakers, third-party organizations, and coalitions to represent the interests of the firm and its stakeholders. The team also provides internal stakeholders, including business leaders and client account teams, with policy analysis, political intelligence, strategic insights, and guidance.

Job Description:

This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the world of policy and government relations. As an intern, you will:

Support the PGR team: Research, track, and report on a wide variety of legislative and policy issues at the federal and state levels.
Develop written products: Create presentations, memos, policy briefs, and fact sheets based on your research.
Attend events: Gain valuable insights by attending congressional hearings, policy briefings, think tank panels, and other relevant events.
Provide briefings: Share your insights and knowledge about events with the PGR team.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience: Working independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
Communication skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in writing, verbally, and interpersonally.
Deadline management: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
Research skills: Proven excellent research skills with a keen attention to detail.
Academic background: Undergraduate rising senior majoring in political science, government, public policy/administration, or a related field (Graduation Date Spring 2026).
Technical proficiency: Experience working with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Travel flexibility: Ability to travel up to 2-3 weeks during the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong academic record: Minimum GPA of 3.4
Policy experience: Strong understanding of the policy environment and/or experience working for or closely with Capitol Hill, state or local government, policy organizations (e.g., think tanks, advocacy groups), or in another government relations-related role.
Relevant issue experience: Prior experience working on issues related to financial services, education and workforce development, immigration, climate, technology, or diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and/or previous consulting experience.

Important Notes:

Start Date: June 2025 (internship duration approximately 8 weeks)
Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
Limited Immigration Sponsorship: May be available.
Full-Time Conversion: This role does not convert into a full-time position.
Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in Washington, DC is $32/hour.
