Job Description: PM Multi-craft Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Mgr., following the direction of Team Leader/Supervisor
Shift/Hours: Monday-Friday / 6:45 AM-3 PM
Starting Rate: $27.14 per hour/with the ability to earn more
We are seeking a dedicated PM Multi-craft Technician to join our Maintenance Department. This crucial role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of our manufacturing equipment, primarily within the fast-paced and demanding environment of aluminum manufacturing. As a Maintenance Technician on our Preventive Maintenance (PM) team, you will be responsible for conducting scheduled preventive maintenance, proactively identifying and troubleshooting equipment issues, and executing effective repairs. Your expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems will be invaluable in maintaining high productivity levels, minimizing downtime, and optimizing machine performance, all while strictly adhering to safety standards and company procedures. You will work closely with our production team to support continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on a wide variety of machinery and equipment in accordance with established maintenance plans.
- Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify potential problems such as leaks, wear and tear, or irregularities in equipment operation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacement of parts, using appropriate documentation systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions effectively, utilizing appropriate tools, diagnostic techniques, and technical manuals.
- Execute repairs or replace defective components as needed, including but not limited to motors, belts, gears, electrical wiring, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Support the creation and participate in the annual review of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for all maintenance-related tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Actively participate in and support the plant’s Safe Work Permit process, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
- Contribute to the creation and annual review of specific job procedures for maintenance tasks, promoting efficiency and safety.
- Maintain a general working knowledge of how to troubleshoot problems through Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Assist other plant mechanics as required, based upon plant priorities and directives from maintenance team leads or plant management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with continuous improvement engineers and production departments, suggesting ways to enhance equipment reliability and/or productivity.
- Willingness and ability to adhere to all safety standards and consistently wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry best practices in preventive maintenance techniques to continuously improve skills and methods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED. Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, industrial mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
OR
Five years of related work experience in an industrial maintenance setting. - Demonstrated experience with industrial electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems.
- Experience working with and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Ability to proficiently read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a proven capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Good communication skills, enabling clear interaction with team members, accurate reporting of maintenance activities, and effective collaboration.
- Ability to work equally well both individually and as part of a collaborative team.
- Be able to follow and uphold strict adherence to safety rules and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Must successfully pass a company background check and drug screen.
