Blood Collection Staff – Customer Service | TalentAlly
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role for Blood Collection Staff with the American Red Cross, supported by TalentAlly, located in Cheektowaga and Buffalo, New York. The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Variable schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays; overnight travel may be required.
• Location: In-person, Cheektowaga and Buffalo, New York
• Pay: $20.03 hourly
• Team: Collaborates with teammates for blood collection and site setup.
• Mission: To create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors and safely collect blood donations to support hospitals and communities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Donor Connection: Personally connect with volunteer donors, listening to their stories and helping them understand the impactful nature of their donation.
• Environment Creation: Collaborate with teammates to foster a welcoming and friendly environment that encourages volunteer donors to return repeatedly.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain detailed orientation throughout the day to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
• Equipment Management: Work with the team to transport, set up, and tear down equipment at mobile blood donation sites in local communities.
• Vehicle Operation: Drive Red Cross vehicles as needed to transport equipment and staff to various donation locations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent is required, along with experience in customer service and effective verbal communication skills.
• Experience: A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Must be able to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
• Skills: Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, good manual dexterity, and the ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs.
• Bonus: Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (such as CNA, MA, or EMT) or prior leadership experience.
