Manager – Pharmacy | Mayo Clinic

The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Mayo Clinic, located across multiple sites within the Mayo Clinic Health System. • Mission: Manage pharmacy operations and services to ensure patient safety, optimized outcomes, and high-value care within an assigned area or multiple less complex sites.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Management: Manage pharmacy operations and services for a moderately sized, complex pharmacy area or multiple critical access hospital sites.
• Leadership & Advocacy: Provide strong, visible, and values-driven leadership, advocating for pharmacy within the organization.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure all pharmacy services meet or exceed quality, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Strategic Alignment: Align pharmacy operations with departmental programs, incorporate best practices, and support institutional strategic vision and priorities.
• Education & Scholarship: Actively participate in and support pharmacy education programs and scholarly activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Doctorate of Pharmacy degree (or Pharmacy BS degree if graduated before 2000). This role is for a Manager leading pharmacy operations.
• Experience: Completion of an accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency with a minimum of 1 year of applicable pharmacy experience, OR a minimum of 3 years of applicable pharmacy experience. Applicable experience includes providing, developing, implementing, and overseeing progressive pharmacy operations in an integrated healthcare system and/or a proven history of providing progressive services and leadership as a pharmacist.
• Skills: Current license to practice Pharmacy in the state of employment, proven commitment to excellence and patient care, ability to work effectively in a team environment, strong communication skills, and alignment with Mayo Clinic values.
• Bonus: Previous supervisory or management experience; a Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., MHA, MBA, MPH); completion of leadership or management educational programs (e.g., ASHP leadership program, Mayo programs); history of active participation and leadership in pharmacy professional organizations; Board Certification by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.
