Job Title: Pharmacy Business Analytics Intern

This role requires associates to work from one of the posted locations full-time (5 days per week) in:
- Norfolk, VA
- Mason, OH
- Wallingford, CT

About the Role:
This Pharmacy Business Analytics Intern will be responsible for supporting the CarelonRx team in identifying inefficiencies and risks, and implementing new strategic solutions for business improvement. During this intensive summer internship, the intern will gain hands-on experience by:
- Translating basic business needs into functional business requirements.
- Collecting and analyzing existing business processes to properly document current workflows.
- Collaborating with technical partners to ensure a seamless transition of business requirements into technical requirements based on acceptance criteria for broader, positive impact.
This internship offers the opportunity to engage in innovative work that leverages new tools and technologies, ultimately contributing to improved care for members, greater value for customers, and enhanced healthcare for communities.
Internship Duration and Schedule:
This will be a full-time program (40 hours/week) running for 12 weeks, from May 18th, 2026 – August 7th, 2026.
How You Will Make An Impact:
- Analyze large-scale and complex data sets from reports to develop strategic recommendations for business improvement.
- Review and interpret business reports to find the story behind the data that can be translated for the business.
- Analyze medical cost trends to determine contributing factors.
- Participate in the planning and preparation of materials for meetings and present project results and findings.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal business leaders and stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship and work in-office 5 days per week.
- Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related program.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, And Experiences:
- Proficiency within the Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong preference for advanced Excel knowledge.
- Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on public speaking.
- Interest in process improvements and the healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with Visio or other data visualization/workflow tools.
