What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management & Organization: Collect and organize documents and information from various cases, ensuring all important documents are meticulously maintained within case files.
• Communication & Information Flow: Relay messages effectively between various groups, acting as a key point of contact for case-related information.
• Legal Documentation Support: Review and draft routine legal documents, providing essential support to the legal team.
• Deadline Facilitation: Facilitate the meeting of attorney’s deadlines by meticulously keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders.
• Legal Research: Conduct necessary legal research to support ongoing cases and attorney requirements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any field, or a Paralegal certificate. This foundation is essential for understanding legal procedures and supporting the firm’s personal injury caseload. The role is well-suited for individuals seeking to apply their initial legal education and experience within a practical law firm setting.
• Experience: Demonstrated prior experience working as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal is required. This experience should include familiarity with the day-to-day operations and demands of a legal environment, particularly concerning document management and administrative support.
• Skills: Strong capabilities in the collection and organization of legal documents and information are paramount. The ideal candidate will exhibit clear and comfortable communication skills for relaying messages between various internal and external groups. Essential skills also include the ability to review and draft routine legal documents, create and maintain comprehensive case files, manage schedules to facilitate attorney’s deadlines through timely reminders, and conduct thorough legal research.
