Job Description:
Exos is offering a Performance Nutrition Internship at their Performance Center in Phoenix, AZ. This is a learning-intensive, 12-16 week onsite program requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week. The goal is to expose interns to different philosophies and how they are integrated into the Exos methodology and nutrition training, teach them how to evaluate athletes, understand their fundamental needs, and holistically understand athlete care.
As a Performance Nutrition Intern You Will:
• Shadow, observe & support Performance Nutrition Specialists in:
• Individual nutrition evaluations
• Individual daily nutrition plans, including pre, during & post-workout nutrition prescriptions
• Implementing individualized recovery strategies & hydration protocols for athletes
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the Exos Methodology though:
• Weekly small group and/or individual sessions
• Self-paced learning modules
• Assist the Performance Nutrition Specialists as needed with other duties such as food service management, education presentations and operational tasks
• Be challenged to think outside the box to explore all possibilities instead of the cookie-cutter approach
Internship Requirements:
• Must be fulfilling a curriculum or graduation requirement in Nutrition or Dietetics, ideally a 4th-year nutrition student.
• Have a desire to work with the active/athletic population.
• Prior experience in sports nutrition is preferred.
Internship Logistics:
• Interns are responsible for finding, securing, and funding their own housing.
• Interns are responsible for booking and funding their travel and relocation to the internship location.
• Interns are responsible for funding all food and transportation costs during the internship.
• Interns are responsible for confirming course credit through their school advisor.
