This is an internship at PlusAI, located in Santa Clara, CA. PlusAI is a Physical AI company that develops pioneering AI-based virtual driver software specifically for factory-built autonomous trucks. This role provides an opportunity to delve into the cutting-edge world of autonomous vehicles, contributing directly to real-world impact by working within a state-of-the-art simulation pipeline.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, Santa Clara, CA
• Pay: $19–$65 hourly
• Mission: Develop technologies to detect unknown or foreign objects using multi-modal sensor streams.
• Tech Stack: Python

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop: Develop state-of-the-art technologies to detect unknown or foreign objects using multi-modal sensor streams.
• Benchmark: Develop and benchmark cutting-edge techniques in deep learning.
• Integrate: Collaborate with team members to optimize and seamlessly integrate developed techniques into the production perception/AV stack.
• Train: Train and fine-tune multimodal deep learning models within a simulation pipeline.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing an MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a similar technical field of study.
• Experience: Software design and development experience in Python; experience in 3D computer vision.
• Skills: Knowledge of Machine Learning/Deep Learning concepts.
• Bonus: Past project experience in deep learning involving object detection, motion tracking, or semantic segmentation; a publication record in relevant academic venues (e.g., CVPR, ICLR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, AAAI, SIGGRAPH).
