People Team Intern – HR Operations & AI Innovation (Fall 2026) | Cloudflare

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Cloudflare, located in Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA. Cloudflare operates one of the world’s largest networks, helping millions of Internet properties, and is on a mission to build a better Internet. This role is crucial within the People Team, as you will contribute to optimizing HR operations and pioneer the application of AI to improve workplace processes. You will join a company that values spotting and solving “normalized” problems with AI-native curiosity, iterating quickly, and sharing improvements across the team.

• Mission: Pioneer the use of AI in the workplace and drive project efficiency within global HR functions.
• Tech Stack: AI tools, LLMs, automation tools, spreadsheets, data visualization tools, Confluence, Notion

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Management: Manage end-to-end project lifecycles for People Team initiatives, ensuring timelines are met and stakeholders are managed.
• Process Optimization: Identify manual HR workflows and leverage AI solutions to automate and improve processes, including employee communications and internal documentation.
• Data-Driven Insights: Analyze people data to identify trends in hiring, retention, and employee engagement, providing recommendations to leadership.
• Knowledge Management: Maintain and audit internal documentation and the knowledge base, ensuring employees have access to accurate information.
• Internal AI Advocacy: Become a power user and internal champion for proprietary AI tools, helping the team leverage platforms for smarter decision-making.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (open to all majors) or a relevant HR program.
• Experience: Familiarity with applying AI tools to improve business processes and team efficiencies, with a preference for experience with LLMs or automation tools.
• Skills: Exceptional organization; detailed-oriented mindset; AI fluency; data literacy, including mastery of spreadsheets and data visualization; strong written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Experience managing internal Wikis (e.g., Confluence, Notion); familiarity with HR compliance, processes, program administration, and tools; a background in Project Management (PMO) or Business Operations.
