People Team Intern – HR Operations & AI Innovation (Fall 2026) | Cloudflare
The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Cloudflare, located in Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA. Cloudflare operates one of the world’s largest networks, supporting millions of internet properties and helping to build a better Internet. The People Team is central to this mission, seeking an intern who will drive project efficiency and pioneer the use of AI in the workplace within HR functions. The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time (3 days per week in office)
• Location: In-person, Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA
• Pay: $24 hourly
• Team: Embedded in one of these global HR functions: People Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Talent Growth & Enablement, or Benefits.
• Mission: Pioneer the use of AI in the workplace and drive project efficiency within Cloudflare’s People Team.
• Tech Stack: AI tools, LLMs, automation tools
What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Management: Support end-to-end project lifecycles for People Team initiatives, ensuring timelines are met and stakeholders are managed.
• Process Optimization: Automate and improve manual HR workflows by applying AI solutions to streamline employee communications and internal documentation.
• Data Analysis: Analyze people data to identify trends in hiring, retention, and employee engagement, making recommendations to leadership.
• Knowledge Management: Maintain and audit internal documentation and the knowledge base, ensuring employees have access to accurate, up-to-date information.
• AI Advocacy: Become a power user and internal champion for proprietary AI tools, helping the team use these platforms for smarter decision-making.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (open to all majors) or relevant HR program.
• Experience: Ability to commit to a minimum 12-week internship; comfort analyzing data; familiarity with AI tools and how they can be applied to improve business processes and team efficiencies; availability to work in office 3-5 days a week if based in Austin.
• Skills: Exceptional organization with the ability to manage multiple projects; detail-oriented mindset, catching data integrity issues; AI fluency, with experience in LLMs or automation tools a major plus; data literacy, comfortable with spreadsheets and data visualization to tell stories or solve problems; strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex processes simply.
• Bonus: Experience managing internal Wikis (e.g., Confluence, Notion); familiarity with HR compliance, processes, program administration, and tools; a background in Project Management (PMO) or Business Operations.
