Payroll Analyst 3 | Garmin

The Tone:

• Mission: This role performs advanced payroll analysis, reconciliation, and problem-solving to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations independently.
• Tech Stack: ADP Vantage system, UKG timekeeping system, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, software reporting tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Expertise & Guidance: Serve as a subject matter expert in payroll processing, time/attendance activities, systems, and compliance matters.
• Analysis & Reconciliation: Perform advanced payroll analysis and reconciliations across payroll cycles and related processes to ensure accuracy.
• Compliance & Problem Solving: Investigate complex payroll discrepancies, identify root causes, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with HR legislation, regulations, and policies.
• Tax Management: Ensure compliance with multi-state taxing jurisdictions, process restricted stock vesting, complete jurisdictional setups, and assist with tax notices and audits.
• Project Leadership & Mentorship: Lead projects of larger scope, develop scalable solutions to improve payroll efficiency, and provide training and guidance to less experienced team members.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, serving as an advanced payroll professional.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience performing a substantially similar payroll role, including demonstrated experience leading projects, process improvement, and coaching/mentoring less experienced team members.
• Skills: Proficient to advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel; proficient to advanced knowledge of payroll processing, compliance, and multi-state tax regulations; demonstrated advanced problem-solving and conflict resolution; strong ability to influence and collaborate across functions; strong organizational skills with superior time management, follow-up, and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience working with ADP Vantage system; experience working with UKG timekeeping system; previous experience with implementing and/or upgrading payroll or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) software; previous experience processing payroll for 1000+ employees; Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC); Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)-APA.
