Payroll Specialist | LaSalle Network

This is a full-time hybrid role at a global leader in building materials manufacturing, located in Chicago, IL (Loop). The Payroll Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing for a large, multi-state workforce, while driving payroll compliance and system efficiency. • Team: Reports directly to the Senior Payroll Manager, supporting payroll operations across multiple locations.
• Mission: Ensuring accurate and timely multi-state payroll processing, maintaining compliance, and improving system efficiency for a large workforce.
• Tech Stack: ADP Enterprise Payroll, ADP Reporting, UKG Payroll, Microsoft Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Process: Accurately process multi-state payroll on time, ensuring full compliance with company policies and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
• Analyze: Audit, reconcile, and resolve payroll processing issues to maintain smooth and error-free payroll operations.
• Calculate: Perform gross-to-net payroll calculations and accurately compute employee wages, tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
• Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries related to pay, deductions, and leave accruals.
• Improve: Identify opportunities to enhance payroll processes, reporting, and system efficiencies, and assist with implementing necessary changes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
• Experience: 2+ years of full-cycle payroll experience, including experience with ADP Enterprise Payroll, ADP Reporting, and/or UKG Payroll.
• Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis), strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and professional communication skills.
• Bonus: CPP certification or other payroll certification.
