This role is crucial for developing new AI-powered tools for the legal industry, where you will review and validate data extracted by machine learning systems from legal materials. What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Read and analyze published judicial opinions across state and federal jurisdictions.
• Verification: Review outputs generated by AI systems and verify their accuracy against the source legal materials.
• Error Identification: Apply your legal research training to identify errors, ambiguities, or edge cases in automated outputs.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with legal researchers and ML engineers to improve data quality over time.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a 2L or 3L at the University of Chicago Law School, Northwestern, or the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, with completion of at least the 1L curriculum.
• Experience: Completion of coursework including legal research and writing.
• Skills: Enjoy reading and analyzing judicial opinions, statutes, and other legal authorities; strong attention to detail and familiarity with legal writing.
• Bonus: Interest in legal technology or AI.
