• Mission: This person supports business operations and commercial contract work by providing comprehensive legal and administrative assistance to the in-house attorney.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Word, track changes), LexisNexis.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Draft, format, and meticulously proofread various legal documents.
• Risk Identification: Learn to identify and flag potential risk issues within contracts as you receive training.
• Workflow Management: Manage document version control, redlines, and signature workflows, while also tracking deadlines.
• Information Gathering: Communicate directly with clients and vendors to schedule meetings, gather necessary information, and follow up as needed.
• Research & Organization: Conduct legal research to support the drafting of both internal and external documents, and organize and maintain contract files.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Foundational understanding of legal support functions gained through experience.
• Experience: 1–2 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word (specifically track changes and formatting) and legal research tools.
• Skills: Clear and proactive written communication, sharp attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to learn quickly and work independently after training.
• Bonus: Experience within a tech company or a sales organization.
