Organizational Development Principal | General Dynamics Information Technology

The Tone:
This is a full-time, regular role at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), located in Falls Church, VA, with a hybrid work schedule. GDIT is a global technology and professional services company that delivers technology solutions and mission services to government and intelligence agencies. This role is crucial for an Organizational Development Principal to drive initiatives that align leadership, culture, team performance, and enterprise strategy, significantly impacting GDIT’s organizational capabilities and business results.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Leadership Succession: Project manage and support enterprise leadership talent reviews and succession management initiatives.
• Program Design & Facilitation: Co-design and co-facilitate customized leadership alignment sessions, workshops, and other development programs.
• Organizational Assessment & Analysis: Conduct organizational assessments and analyze complex data to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
• Change Management Support: Assist in the design and implementation of organizational change initiatives to improve business effectiveness.
• Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with HR and leadership stakeholders to ensure OD programs align with strategic business objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, human resources, or a related field.
• Experience: 8+ years of related experience in the OD/HR space, with significant experience in large, complex, or matrixed organizations; comfortable using AI for data analysis, idea generation, and workflow improvements.
• Skills: Understanding of organizational behavior and development theories, data analysis (Microsoft Excel proficiency including pivot tables and formulas), executive presentation design (Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency), collaborative work style, strong interpersonal skills, business acumen.
• Bonus: Master’s degree; certification in 360s or individual assessments (DiSC, MBTI); experience in at least two of the following areas: succession planning, high-potential identification, change management, leadership development, employee engagement, learning and development, or human capital consulting.
