SC Operations Specialist Shipping | Staples

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Staples, an organization dedicated to meeting customer supply chain needs through efficient and smart operations. Staples builds and manages a comprehensive network for distribution, fulfillment, and services, ensuring state-of-the-art products and expertise reach customers. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient shipping operations by analyzing data, managing systems, and supporting departmental workflow, directly contributing to the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

• Team: Works within a department, assisting the department leader and collaborating with clerical support, supervisors, and managers.
• Mission: To optimize shipping operations by analyzing data, managing systems, and ensuring compliance, thereby supporting workflow efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Tech Stack: WMS, Sunbeam, EXE/PKMS/WMS, Galaxy AS/400 system, BRIO, Cubiscan dimension calculation equipment, AMS software for Cubiscan, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, MS Teams, Power BI

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Run critical reports using systems like WMS, Sunbeam, or other WMS and labor reporting tools.
• Workflow Management: Assist the department leader in effectively managing the daily workflow and operational processes.
• Data Analysis & Improvement: Analyze information data to develop and recommend actionable improvements for processes and operations.
• System Maintenance & Coordination: Maintain operational systems as needed due to upgrades or business changes, and coordinate major system enhancements.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure strict compliance with systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and conduct audits to verify adherence.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An operations specialist with significant above-average math skills and knowledge of Staples product flow and departmental interdependencies.
• Experience: At least 1 year of basic Microsoft Excel computer skills and 1+ years of basic knowledge in systems such as EXE/PKMS/WMS, Galaxy AS/400, Sunbeam, BRIO, Cubiscan dimension calculation equipment, or AMS software.
• Skills: Perceptible detail-oriented verbal, written, and communication skills; calculable ability to build metrics; ability to help supervisors lead and coordinate work operations using data; and a strong capacity to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Bonus: Experience with Microsoft Access and knowledge of the MS Teams environment, including Power BI, are preferred.
