Operations Manager – FFS | United Rentals

The Tone:
This is an Operations Manager role at United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider. The company aims to build a new business in Flooring and Facility Solutions (FFS). This role is critical for establishing and directing the delivery of premium service to facility maintenance and restoration customers, ensuring safety, training, and operational excellence from the ground up.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person

• Team: Reports to the District Manager. Leads FFS Outside Sales Representatives, Mechanics, and other FFS staff.
• Mission: Build a new Flooring and Facility Solutions business, delivering “white glove” service and ensuring effective and efficient operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Management: Support the District Manager in implementing actions to achieve financial objectives.
• Policy Compliance: Assist the District Manager in ensuring adherence to all company policies.
• Business Oversight: Oversee sales efforts and business initiatives for FFS.
• Staff Performance: Manage the performance of direct staff, including the FFS Outside Sales Representative, Mechanics, and other applicable personnel.
• Safety Leadership: Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, personal compliance, accountability, and clear communication.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager. High School diploma, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. Basic knowledge of the construction rental equipment industry or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years in both sales and operations roles.
• Skills: Strong motivational and leadership capabilities; Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills (verbal/written); Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree.
