What You’ll Actually Do
• Talent Development: Screen, hire, train, and continuously mentor a high-performing team, actively building and developing the next generation of GFL leaders within the facility.
• Financial Management: Drive the business by taking full ownership of the facility’s P&L statement, conducting monthly financial performance analysis, and developing aggressive profit plans focused on ROA and EBITDA targets.
• Operational Excellence: Optimize operations by staying ahead of the curve, utilizing cutting-edge routing software (such as Route Smart) and advanced logistics technology to ensure the entire fleet runs like clockwork.
• Safety Program Leadership: Implement and champion GFL’s premier Safety Program across all operations, making the daily safe return home of every team member the absolute number one priority.
• External Representation: Serve as the face of GFL by building and nurturing exceptional customer relationships, negotiating key contracts, and proudly representing the company in local civic affairs and community events.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university, or demonstrate a proven, rock-solid track record of successful operational leadership within a relevant industry.
• Experience: Bring 5+ years of experience in the waste/environmental services industry, which is highly preferred, or an equivalent mix of relevant education combined with exceptional management experience.
• Skills: Exhibit a sharp analytical mind, coupled with stellar communication skills, allowing for easy interpretation of profit plans and the ability to inspire a room full of drivers.
• Bonus: Demonstrate a willingness to travel occasionally as needed, ensuring the regional footprint remains strong and aligned with company objectives.
