Sales in Training (Millwork) | Builders FirstSource

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learning & Observation: Shadow assigned employees and management to become familiar with company processes and procedures.
• Rotational Training: Receive training and perform duties across various operational areas including yard operations, millwork, production, dispatch, safety, sales, finance, and human resources.
• Financial Participation: May participate in the development of operating budgets and capital expenditure recommendations to meet operational and financial goals.
• Program Completion: Participate in and successfully complete all assigned training programs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is considered an entry-level operations management position where company training will be provided.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required, as this is an entry-level role focused on gaining operational management experience.
• Skills: Strong customer service skills both face-to-face and via telephone; good verbal and written communication skills; good mathematical aptitude; good computer aptitude, particularly with Microsoft Office and ERP applications.
• Bonus: Previous selling experience is helpful.
