Job Description: Operations Management Intern
This paid internship at Cargill offers a 16-week program (May – August 2025) designed to prepare students for a career in plant operations management. Interns gain real-world experience, learning from experienced professionals and contributing to meaningful projects. The internship focuses on providing practical experience and preparing candidates for the Operations Management Associate role.
Responsibilities:
The internship is a training role where interns will:
• Gain exposure to plant and/or distribution operations workflow: This includes shadowing and learning from various plant teams and departments.
• Complete a project to improve a facet of the current operation: Interns will apply classroom skills to real-world challenges.
• Tackle additional projects of interest: Encouraging initiative and exploration beyond core responsibilities.
• Receive exposure to various operational areas: This includes, but isn’t limited to:
• Operations: Understanding the core processes and workflows within the facility.
• Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leadership: Learning about safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Engineering/Maintenance: Exposure to the maintenance and upkeep of plant equipment.
• Accounting: Understanding the financial aspects of plant operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Participation in process improvement initiatives.
• Human Resources/Talent Management/Employee Relations: Gaining insight into employee management and development.
• Risk Management: Learning about safety leadership and regulatory compliance.
• Talent Management: Understanding employee leadership, mentoring, and development.
• Reliability Excellence: Understanding production maintenance to meet customer requirements.
• Operational Efficiency: Understanding plant operations to achieve business objectives.
• Capital Efficiency: Collaboration on capital projects to maintain market competitiveness.
• Continuous Improvement: Working on process improvements using various tools.

Qualifications:
• Required: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (any field) from an accredited program, graduating between December 2025 and May 2027. Ability to complete a 16-week internship (May-August 2025). Proven ability to work with diverse individuals. High degree of initiative and resourcefulness. Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Preferred: Pursuing a degree in agriculture or business-related fields (e.g., Animal Science, Ag-Economics, etc.).
