Operations Leadership Trainee | HOLT CAT

The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership development position at HOLT CAT, located in San Antonio. The role is designed for college graduates within the Machine Division, preparing them for professional leadership roles. It focuses on developing skills to lead and influence within HOLT CAT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) culture, utilizing the company’s leadership language, tools, models, and processes. This position is vital for cultivating future leaders who can build interdependent and highly functional relationships across the operations division.

The TL;DR
• Role: Leadership Development Trainee
• Type: Full Time
• Location: In-person San Antonio, TX

• Team: Machine Division (MAC), reporting to Graciela Lopez
• Mission: To prepare college graduates for professional leadership roles within the operations division by developing leadership skills and VBL culture understanding over 24 months.

What You’ll Actually Do
• VBL Implementation: Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with the company’s Vision, Values, and Mission.
• Departmental Rotation: Rotate through multiple departments and assignments to successfully identify areas of highest and best use within the operations division.
• Relationship Building: Develop strong, positive relationships at all levels across the enterprise to foster interdependence and highly functional teams.
• Supervisory Experience: Undertake a one-year rotation with direct supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, and appraising employees.
• Cultural Adaptability: Demonstrate personal adaptability and a deep understanding of the Values Based Leadership (VBL) culture, including its language, tools, models, and processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or another relevant focus is required for this entry-level leadership development position.
• Experience: Participation in a 24-month rotational program designed to prepare for a professional role, including a one-year rotation with supervisory responsibilities.
• Skills: Strong self-management with high self-awareness and adaptability for feedback; demonstrated influencing capability to perform effectively in diverse and changing conditions; problem-solving expertise covering identification, resolution, and resource management; planning expertise to integrate enterprise strategic business plans into departmental operational processes.
