The TL;DR

• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person – Multiple U.S. Locations (Houston, Orlando, Tampa, Miami, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Louisville, Salt Lake City, St. Louis. Relocation is required based on business needs, company-paid.)
• Pay: $77000 yearly
• Mission: To thoroughly learn all facets of the scrap metal recycling industry from the ground up to assume a Leadership role upon program completion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training & Development: Complete 12-18 months of hands-on, in-depth training in the scrap metal recycling business within one geographic region.
• Safety Culture Leadership: Learn and model Nucor’s “Safety First” culture, including adherence to OSHA practices and daily operational safety standards.
• Operational Oversight: Gain comprehensive exposure to all facets of scrap processing and recycling, including purchasing, inspecting, logistics, and equipment maintenance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with corporate personnel, customers, vendors, and teammates to resolve problems and ensure consistent product delivery or acquisition.
• Strategic Contribution: Collaborate with management to plan, direct work, identify business trends, recommend proactive actions, and protect company assets and profitability.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Business discipline, Operations, Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Experience: No specific prior work experience is required; previous leadership experience is preferred.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing assignments; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to build relationships, collaborate, and work efficiently with team members; ability to make quick decisions with confidence in an ever-changing environment; ambition and willingness to strengthen communication, decision-making, relationship-building, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Continuous improvement mindset and creative problem-solving ability; ability to interface effectively with customers and teammates; strong safety focus; bilingual in English and Spanish.
