Job Description

Operations Development Program | Hydrite

The Tone:
This is an early career development program at Hydrite, a company that operates multiple manufacturing sites. Hydrite is a family-driven, financially strong organization that values its people and seeks problem-solvers to join its growing team. This rotational program is designed to build future operational leaders, starting with hands-on supervision, to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement across the company. The role is critical for developing the next generation of leadership from the ground up within Hydrite’s operations.

The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career Development
• Type: Full-time
• Location: Multiple Hydrite manufacturing sites (relocation required)

• Team: Reports to the Manufacturing Manager for the first rotation.
• Mission: To develop future operational leaders by owning safety, team accountability, and daily execution within a production area, while learning manufacturing processes in depth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Safety Leadership: Lead safety performance for the assigned area by setting expectations, investigating issues, and ensuring timely closure of concerns.
• Team Supervision: Supervise a production or shift team, managing staffing, providing coaching, conducting performance conversations, and ensuring daily execution of the production schedule.
• Process Mastery: Develop in-depth technical fluency in the site’s manufacturing processes to make sound operating decisions and earn the confidence of experienced operators.
• Project Contribution: Lead or actively contribute to engineering and continuous improvement projects that run alongside daily supervisory responsibilities.
• Rotational Development: Complete a second assignment in areas such as process engineering, supply chain, maintenance, quality, continuous improvement, or EHS, and present an annual report out to operations leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, supply chain, or a general business discipline. This is an early career role open to new graduates and current Hydrite employees.
• Experience: Prior leadership experience through an internship, co-op, military service, or a previous role is strongly preferred, given the program opens in a supervisory seat.
• Skills: Sound judgment under pressure, the ability to hold production standards while building rapport with plant floor teams, willingness to be present on off shifts, and an expectation for 10-25% travel.
• Bonus: Willingness to relocate to various Hydrite manufacturing sites, which significantly expands program opportunities and career progression.
