As an Operational Excellence (OPEX) Intern, you will actively support critical continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing various aspects of our manufacturing operations. Your primary focus will be on enhancing production processes, streamlining material flow, and boosting overall operational efficiency. This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to data-driven projects that directly improve productivity, reduce waste, and implement lean manufacturing principles across our facilities, playing a vital part in our commitment to excellence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Analysis: Conduct in-depth cycle time studies to meticulously develop comprehensive cycle time diagrams. Utilize these diagrams to identify critical production bottlenecks and actively support essential line balancing activities across various manufacturing stages.
• Continuous Improvement: Play a key role in participating in Kaizen events and contributing to various continuous improvement projects. This involves rigorously applying established lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to significantly enhance overall production line performance and efficiency.
• Material Management: Support the strategic development and ongoing maintenance of the Plan for Every Part (PFEP). This critical initiative includes determining optimal inventory levels for all necessary components, organizing efficient material flow throughout the facility, and implementing robust visual management standards to improve clarity and control.
• Logistics Optimization: Assist in the strategic design and continuous optimization of internal material delivery routes. Your contributions will ensure seamless and efficient flow of materials between the inbound warehouse, various subassembly areas, the main production lines, and outbound logistics, minimizing delays and improving throughput.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an Entry-Level internship. Candidates should possess a strong, demonstrable interest in manufacturing operations, core lean principles, and practical process improvement methodologies.
• Experience: Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is required, with a strong preference for candidates demonstrating expert-level capabilities in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Skills: Exhibit a proactive, analytical, and highly project-oriented mindset, coupled with keen attention to detail in all tasks. Possess advanced verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, convey technical information, and document project progress.
