Tutors on the platform leverage advanced technology, AI, and learning science to create tailored educational experiences.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deliver: Provide personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring in Discrete Math to students through scheduled sessions on the Live Learning Platform.
• Respond: Accept and fulfill instant, on-demand tutoring requests to provide immediate academic assistance whenever available.
• Instruct: Explain core Discrete Math concepts, including logic, proof techniques, set theory, combinatorics, graph theory, number theory, recurrence relations, Boolean algebra, algorithms, and formal languages.
• Facilitate: Guide students through complex problem-solving, such as proof construction using direct, contrapositive, and contradiction methods, combinatorial counting, graph coloring and traversal, and solving recurrence relations.
• Adapt: Customize teaching methods using tools like truth tables, Venn diagrams, visual graph representations, and programming-based exercises to address common student challenges and diverse learning styles at the undergraduate level.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced subject mastery in Discrete Math, encompassing deep knowledge of logic, proof techniques, set theory, combinatorics, graph theory, number theory, recurrence relations, Boolean algebra, algorithms, and formal languages, sufficient to prepare students for computer science theory, cryptography, and advanced mathematics coursework at the undergraduate level.
• Experience: Familiarity with Discrete Math curricula and common challenges students face, such as writing formal proofs, distinguishing permutations from combinations, and understanding graph theory terminology.
• Skills:
• Ability to break down complex concepts and guide students through rigorous problem-solving with an emphasis on logical reasoning and argumentation.
• Strong capacity to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and adapt instruction using multiple approaches to meet individual learning needs.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style that fosters an adaptive learning environment for students.
