What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized online instruction covering college-level algebra, functions and graphs, trigonometric concepts, introductory statistics, finite mathematics, linear programming, and mathematical modeling.
• Simplify: Break down complex topics like function analysis and statistical inference basics, guiding students through interpreting data sets and solving optimization problems.
• Customize: Adapt teaching methods using real-world contexts, technology tools, and scaffolded problem sets to support adult learners with varying mathematical backgrounds.
• Guide: Prepare students to meet general education mathematics requirements and apply math in diverse academic disciplines, emphasizing quantitative literacy and critical thinking.
• Connect: Engage with students through personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions or by accepting on-demand instant tutoring requests.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Advanced subject mastery of college-level algebra, functions and graphs, trigonometric concepts, introductory statistics, finite mathematics, linear programming, mathematical modeling, quantitative reasoning, set theory, logic, and probability.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability in conceptual teaching and problem-solving, skilled at breaking down complex topics, and familiar with college math curricula, including liberal arts math and quantitative reasoning courses.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, a friendly and engaging teaching style, and the capacity to adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles using multiple approaches.
