What We Look For In an Algebra Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery:
  • Deep knowledge of core Algebra I topics: linear equations, quadratic equations, polynomials, rational expressions, systems of equations, inequalities, absolute value, and exponents.

  • Familiarity with standard Algebra I curricula and common student challenges (e.g., factoring polynomials, solving systems of equations, function notation).
  • Capacity to adapt instruction using various tools like visual graphs, algebraic tiles, and practice problems.
  • Ability to support learners from middle school through early college levels.
• Effective Teaching Methods:
  • Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with.
  • Skill in explaining material using multiple approaches to cater to diverse learning styles.
