Phlebotomist | One Medical
The Tone:
This is a full-time Phlebotomist role at One Medical, located in Walnut Creek, CA. One Medical is a primary care solution dedicated to making quality healthcare more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable by transforming the patient and provider experience. The Phlebotomist is a key player, providing an exceptional patient journey through venipuncture and clinical support, while serving as an ambassador for the company’s brand in the office. This role is crucial for ensuring a seamless, exceptional in-office experience for every patient.

• Mission: To provide an exceptional in-office patient experience through expert venipuncture and comprehensive clinical support services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Experience: Ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, and monitoring patient feedback using the C-I-CARE framework.
• Clinical Procedures: Provide best-in-class venipuncture services on a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, and assist with extended scope duties such as EKGs, vitals, non-blood specimen collection, vaccines, and PPD tests.
• Administrative Support: Handle all front-of-house duties including check-in/out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, and prepping tests, ensuring tasks meet service level expectations.
• Lab & Specimen Management: Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
• Team Collaboration & Office Upkeep: Contribute to team development, support in-office providers with ad hoc asks, and perform daily opening/closing duties to maintain the look and feel of patient and employee facing spaces.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An active phlebotomy certification to practice in CA.
• Experience: At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment, with a proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during collection.
• Skills: Strong customer service skills; Excellent written and verbal communication; Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously; Ability to work collaboratively in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams; A proven track record of persisting through change and learning quickly.
• Bonus: Additional experience with remote teams.
