What You’ll Actually Do
• Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure, including advanced routing, switching, VPN solutions, and segmentation strategies for optimal performance and security.
• Develop and enforce robust network security measures, including firewall policies, Zero Trust principles, WAF administration, threat detection, and leading incident response efforts.
• Administer and maintain diverse server environments, encompassing Windows Server with Active Directory, various Linux distributions, DNS, DHCP, mail, file, and VoIP services.
• Manage and secure cloud-based AWS infrastructure and on-premises virtualized environments using platforms like Proxmox, VMware ESXi, and Hyper-V.
• Utilize scripting and programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, SQL/PLSQL, JSON) for automation, system management, and leverage monitoring and data analysis tools.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Professional experience in secure network data transmission optimization, design, and advanced network security research capabilities.
• Experience: Proven experience in researching and developing prototype logic for secure data transmission optimization across various network components, including a demonstrated ability to improve network throughput efficiency. Demonstrated expertise in designing and testing secure path reservation algorithms and real-time traffic flow optimization models, specifically within complex, enterprise-scale network environments. Experience in authoring and co-authoring technical documentation and conference publications, particularly under faculty supervision, showcasing advanced research capabilities in network security and cloud infrastructure.
• Skills: Network engineering (routing, switching, advanced concepts), network security (firewalls, Zero Trust, WAF, incident response), systems administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, DNS, DHCP), cloud infrastructure (AWS, virtualization), and scripting/programming (Python, Java, SQL).
• Bonus: CCNA, JNCIA, MTCNA certifications.
