Assistant Technician – NDE | TEAM, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an entry-level, field-based role with travel, supporting TEAM, Inc. This Assistant Technician – NDE role is a crucial entry point for a career in asset integrity, contributing directly to the safety, support, and operational excellence of TEAM’s inspection and testing operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inspection Assistance: Assist certified NDT technicians in setting up and performing various inspections, including UT, MT, PT, and RT, strictly adhering to TEAM and client procedures.
• Equipment Logistics: Prepare, organize, and transport all necessary materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites, ensuring proper inventory control and safe handling at all times.
• Safety Protocol Adherence: Actively support radiation safety practices and help secure work areas when radiographic testing is in progress, while consistently following all safety rules and client site protocols.
• Work Area Maintenance: Ensure that all tools are properly maintained, cleaned, and stored, and that work areas are kept organized and free of hazards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Accurately complete required field reports, timesheets, and other administrative documentation as directed by senior staff.
• General Labor: Perform general labor duties related to rigging, lifting, and the setup of access equipment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates are required to possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent to qualify for this position.
• Experience: No specific years of prior experience are required. However, a basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment are essential. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record is also a mandatory prerequisite.
• Skills: The role demands the ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check. Candidates must be able to obtain necessary site access credentials such as TWIC and DISA. A willingness to travel extensively and work in various environments common to the Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power, Aerospace, and other industrial sectors is critical. The capacity to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules, along with the physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and diverse environmental conditions, is also required. A strong work ethic underpinned by a safety-first mindset is paramount.
• Bonus: Prior experience in NDT, construction, or other industrial environments is preferred. Familiarity with basic NDT methods and terminology is advantageous. Possession of current industry-standard safety certifications like TWIC or OSHA 10/30 will also be considered a strong asset.
