A significant development is Comcast NBCUniversal’s plan to spin off a new publicly traded company (SpinCo) in 2025. SpinCo will encompass most of NBCUniversal’s cable television networks (USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, Golf Channel), along with digital assets like Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. This new entity will be a “pure-play” set of assets focused on news, sports, and entertainment.

Job Description: NBCUniversal Academic Year Internship Program
NBCUniversal offers paid academic year internships (September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026) providing students immersive experiences within the media and entertainment industry. Interns contribute to significant projects, gaining valuable skills and mentorship.

Program Details:
• Application Period: April 21 – May 9, 2024 (may close early)
• Location: Stamford, CT (NBC Sports Headquarters)
• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours/week (flexible to accommodate coursework)
• Eligibility: Actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program (sophomore or above, December 2025 graduates are ineligible), authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
NBC Sports Group Internship Opportunities:
NBC Sports internships offer exposure to various areas, including:
• Marketing: Developing and executing marketing strategies for major sports properties (Sunday Night Football, Olympics, etc.).
• Social Media Marketing: Planning and executing social media campaigns across different sports and brands.
• Consumer Engagement: Assisting with marketing calendars, updating metrics, and contributing to long-term projects.
Qualifications:
• Basic Requirements: Active enrollment in a degree-granting program, sophomore standing or above, US work authorization without sponsorship, availability for 16-24 hours/week, willingness to work in Stamford, CT.
• Desired Characteristics: Junior or senior standing preferred, 3.0 GPA or above, knowledge of Olympic sports, database/Office 365 proficiency, web publishing workflow knowledge, detail-orientation, teamwork skills.

Important Note: While hired as an NBCU intern, the internship and responsibilities might transition to SpinCo in the future.
